Greetings from the Greater Newburyport
Chamber of Commerce and Industry! We
hope you are all enjoying the last few “official” weeks of summer. I am hoping
that summer will continue as we transition into September, school, college and
life in general.
The Chamber’s annual boat cruise – an event not to miss – is
next Wednesday, August 26 aboard the Captain’s Lady leaving Plum Island Point
at 6:00 PM. A great evening of
networking, connecting with old and new colleagues and friends along with great
food and fun music is planned for the reasonable price of $30 for chamber
members and $35 for non members and guests. For more information check out: http://www.newburyportchamber.org/events.shtml
For those of you, who would like to enjoy the end of August
with some art and culture, then why not check out the classic musical of “Oliver”
at the Firehouse from August 20 – 23. I hope to get over as in my “younger” days
I played Mrs. Bumble in my hometown of Waltham.
It’s great music and an even better story! Go to: http://www.firehouse.org/L3-shows-theater4.html
Another event, not to miss is ArtWalk on Saturday, August 22
from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Thirteen Newburyport galleries invite you to this special
arts event; meet artists, see new works of art, refreshments. Self-guided
walking maps are available at the Chamber, the galleries and on the web site at
www.newburyportartwalk.com
And as always, don’t’ forget to follow us on Twitter. It’s
fun - join us.
So get out there and enjoy all that the greater Newburyport
area has to offer. For more information just go to www.newburyportchamber.org. Enjoy!
